Places to Visits in Camiguin

White Island is Camiguin’s most popular destination attracting thousands of tourists every year. The island features crystal clear water, white sands and constantly-changing shape. White Island Camiguin is a sandbar just 2 kilometers from the beaches of Yumbing Mambajao Camiguin.
The island is known to change its shape from time to time depending on the ocean tide. Some of its most common shapes are letters “C,” “L” and “J.” At times, White Island turns into two or three smaller islands.
White Island is a popular tourist destination for both locals and tourists.


The Soda Water Swimming Pool in Camiguin is the first of its kind in the entire Philippines. It is the latest addition to the tourist attractions in island and it was built/developed in 2007. It is made into a swimming pool for human enjoyment and satisfaction.

The Soda Swimming Pool is situated in the town of Catarman which is 30 minutes away from Mambajao, the main town of Camiguin. It is named such because according to folks, it used to taste like soda. All you need to do is to add sweeteners such as caramel and sugar to taste like Coke. The locals visit and swim in the pool to refresh themselves and not to drink the soda water.



Katibawasan Falls is one of the treasured gifts nature has blessed the island of Camiguin.According to the locals, the Waterfalls measures about 250 feet high, cascades to a rock pool surrounded by ground orchids, wild ferns, trees and boulders.The falls rushes down into its green pool that is really refreshing for a good swim. Tourist are welcome to swim. It is an ideal place to cool off during hot and humid days. There is however an entrance fee of 30 pesos per person since the falls is maintained by the province. Giant ferns decorate the surrounding land, carpeting the spaces and huge trees and dropping vines provides the backdrop the falls.

 

STO. NIÑO COLD SPRING Located in Catarman, the Sto. Niño Cold Springhas a pool measuring 25 meters by 40 meters. It is 2 meters deep of coldspring water sprouting from the sandy bottom. The area has a restaurant, native cottages, picnic huts, cookout facilities and restrooms for visitors.

MANTIGUE ISLAND 

Three kilometers off the shore from Barangay San Roque, Mahinog is an island four hectares of evergreen forest fringed with sandy beach. The boat ride to Mantigue is quite exciting, as one has to contend with strong diverging currents due to the open sea. One side of the island is ideal for swimming as it is shallow and has few corals. The opposite side is a deep drop off ideal for snorkeling and diving.
